The multifunctional space relay system (MKSR) "Luch" (the operating organization is JSC SS Gonets, part of the Roscosmos Group of Companies), successfully completed the tasks of targeted application during the descent to Earth of the Soyuz MS-24 manned spacecraft. On April 06, at 06:53 Moscow time, the Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft with participants of the 21st visiting expedition - Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, the first female cosmonaut from the Republic of Belarus Marina Vasilevskaya, as well as NASA astronaut Loral O'Hara, a participant in the 70th expedition, undocked from the small research module "Dawn" of the Russian segment of the International space Station (RS ISS). On April 06, at 10:17 Moscow time, the lander successfully landed near the Kazakh city of Zhezkazgan.

During the operations of undocking and landing the lander to Earth, the Luch relay system provided the transmission of telemetry data to the Flight Control Center (MCC) of the ISS RS, as well as the issuance of control commands on board. All 3 spacecraft of the system were involved in the organization of retransmission channels: Luch-5A, Luch-5B, Luch-5B, equipment installed on the ISS RS and the lander, and means of a ground-based relay support complex.

Currently, the Luch ICSR continues to provide a broadband information transmission channel from the ISS RS with the possibility of voice and video communication for the crew of the 71st long-term expedition.
