Multifunctional space relay system (MSRS) «Loutch» was developed by order of State Space Corporation ROSCOSMOS.
In December 2015 the system was put into operation. The operator and the communication complex developer is Gonets Satellite System, PC.
Multifunctional space relay system «Loutch» is designed to meet the challenges of information support for rocket and space equipment including the International Space Station (ISS RS), provision information exchange between TV-studios, facilitation telebridges, teleconferencing, reporting, and relaying SDCM GLONASS, COSPAS SARSAT, Rosgidromet data.
The MSRS «Loutch»orbit group consists of 3 geostationary relaying satellites «Loutch-5». «Loutch-5A» was deployed in 2011, «Loutch-5B» - in 2012, «Loutch-5V» - in 2014.
«Loutch-5» satellites are developed and manufactured by JSC "Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems" and based on the new light unpressurized platform «Express 1000».
The radiovisibility zones of 3 MSRS «Loutch» satellites provide near-global coverage of the Earth’s surface
All MSRS «Loutch» ground segment assets are located in the territory of Russia.
