The multifunctional space relay system "The multifunctional space relay system "Loutch" (the operating organization is SS Gonets JSC, part of the Roscosmos Group of Companies) has successfully completed the tasks of targeted application during the landing of the S.P. Korolev transport manned spacecraft (TPC) with the ISS–67 crew on board.

On September 29, 2022, at 10:34 Moscow time, Soyuz MS-21 (S.P. Korolev) undocked from the Berth module of the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS RS) and landed near the city of Zhezkazgan at 13:57 Moscow time. 3 cosmonauts of the 67th expedition returned to Earth. The total duration of the flight was 195 days.

The channels of the Multifunctional Space Relay System "Loutch" were involved in providing communication during the preparation, undocking and flight of the manned spacecraft to Earth. The Luch relay system provided the transmission of telemetry information to the Flight Control Center (MCC) of the ISS RS, as well as the issuance of control commands on board the manned spacecraft until the ship enters the radio visibility zone of ground communications.

Currently, according to the established work program, the Luch system continues to provide the crew of the 68th expedition of the ISS RS with a broadband information transmission channel with the possibility of voice and video communication. All 3 spacecraft of the system are involved in the organization of the broadband channel: "Loutch-5A", "Loutch-5B", "Loutch-5V", equipment installed on the ISS RS, and means of a ground-based relay support complex. The use of the Russian "Loutch" relay system makes it possible to organize the exchange of information between the ISS RS and the MCC and minimize the involvement of the American TDRSS relay system.

During the 67th long-term expedition to the ISS, scientific and applied experiments were carried out, the Progress MS-20 cargo ship and the Soyuz MS-22 manned spacecraft were accepted, five spacewalks were performed and six corrections of the ISS orbit were carried out by the engines of the Progress MS-20 transport cargo ship docked to the ISS."
