JSC "Satellite System "Gonets" (part of the State Corporation "Roscosmos") took part in the VII International Conference "Arctic: Sustainable Development" ("Arctic-2022"), which took place on March 2-3, 2022 at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation with the official support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
The business program of the conference addressed topical issues of the development of the Arctic zone of Russia, including issues of transport infrastructure, security in the energy industry, innovation and digitalization in design and technological solutions, as well as issues of environmental safety of the region.
Maxim Diordiev, Director of the Satellite Systems Application Directorate of Gonets Satellite System JSC, took part in the round table "Digitalization for the Development of the Arctic Zone of Russia", where he presented the capabilities of the Gonets system, including ensuring widespread effective monitoring in difficult Arctic conditions. The Gonets satellite system makes it possible to develop and implement unique digital solutions for collecting and transmitting information via a secure communication channel using low-orbit satellites.
The solutions can be applied in various sectors of the economy and spheres of life and are used in any, including difficult conditions (urban agglomeration, mountainous terrain, water surface, places with no GSM connection, etc.). The round table also discussed issues of emergency monitoring, digital transformation, implementation of investment projects using unmanned vehicles, etc.
The International Conference "Arctic - Sustainable Development" has been held annually since 2016 with the aim of promoting sustainable socio-economic development of the Arctic, stimulating scientific, technical and innovative activities in the region, as well as creating favorable conditions for attracting investment in projects for the development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
