JSC "Satellite System "Gonets" (part of the State Corporation "Roscosmos") presented unique digital monitoring programs at the XIII International Forum "Ecology", which was held on May 23-24, 2022 in Moscow at the site of the World Trade Center. Maxim Diordiev, Director of the Satellite Systems Application Directorate of "Gonets Satellite System" JSC, presented at the event unique digital satellite monitoring solutions developed by the company that can be effectively used in the timber industry and the environmental sphere. He made a presentation at the panel session "Ecology and economics of forest relations", where he spoke about software and hardware complexes (SHC): "Gonets-SHC "Cedar" and "Gonets-ecologist".
"Gonets-SHC "Cedar" allows continuous data transmission from logging, transport and road facilities, including monitoring of the location and characteristics of working equipment, felling of timber and sectors of workpieces, operational communication with personnel. The "Gonets-ecologist" service, in turn, digitally monitors the level of liquids using a radio wave sensor and demonstrates high measurement accuracy in both open and closed tanks. The complex provides continuous monitoring at remote energy storage facilities, allowing to prevent man-made accidents and illegal actions.
The uniqueness of the Gonets services is that the received data is processed directly at the collection site and transmitted via a secure satellite channel from any, even the most remote places where there are no terrestrial communication networks. Object monitoring data is stored on the user portal of the Gonets system, where it is possible to manage services and data transmission using a personal computer or mobile communication devices. For personal communications in remote areas, the "Gonets-Connect" mobile application, which is close to the usual mobile messengers, is also in the final stage of development. The forum participants noted the high relevance of the Gonets digital monitoring programs for the timber industry, since currently, on behalf of Vladimir Putin, an effective forestry management system is being created in the country, which should be based on complete, reliable and up-to-date information. One of the key components of this work is the prompt receipt of initial data from the economic entities of the timber industry.
The Ecology Forum is a unique public event in terms of scale and depth of immersion in the subject of nature management and is held with the support and participation of deputies of the State Duma, representatives of relevant ministries and departments. The main purpose of the forum is to identify new trends, changes in the market, to form proposals for changing the regulatory framework in the field of environmental protection, a new industry agenda and try to give a realistic forecast of environmental development under external pressure.
