The domestic hardware and software complex (HSC) "Cedar" (developed by LLC "Ilimsky LTUS") was declared as the most successful solution in the nomination "Best project in industry" of the competition "Communication 2023". The event was held at the Expocenter on Krasnaya Presnya within the framework of the exhibition of the same name, which is Russia's largest business platform in the field of information technology and telecommunications.
The HSC Cedar was nominated as the best practice for import substitution in the telecommunications sector. The M2M solution provides the transmission of telemetry data in areas without ground communication through the use of channels of the domestic satellite communication system "Gonets" (the operator is JSC "Satellite System "Gonets", part of the State Corporation "Roscosmos"). All Cedar software modules are also developed exclusively in Russia. Together, this ensures complete technological independence from foreign suppliers of equipment and communication services.
The Russian "Cedar" allows loggers to control the location of harvesting equipment, the time of its operation and downtime, take into account the volume of harvested wood, fuel consumption. It is also possible to prevent illegal actions, in particular timber fishing in prohibited areas. Data transmission via secure communication channels of the Gonets satellite system guarantees the confidentiality of information, which eliminates the risks associated with the loss of monitoring data. The Cedar HSC easily adapts to the customer's systems and can be used in a variety of areas: in the backbone infrastructure, in mining production, at any industrial facilities and transport.
As part of the events of the Svyaz 2023 exhibition, Alexey Panasov, Head of the Commercial Department of SS Gonets JSC, also made a general presentation of the Gonets satellite system and spoke about its technical characteristics, functions and application possibilities in various sectors of the economy and everyday life. With the help of the Gonets system, data can be transmitted from anywhere on Earth, including the most remote regions. Personal satellite communication works in all weather, natural and geographical conditions.
The Svyaz exhibition has been held since 1975 and for many years has been a leading showcase of the industry, which demonstrates advanced achievements and technologies and sets the direction for the development of the information technology market for the year ahead. Svyaz 2023 was held in Moscow as part of the Russian High Technology Week.
