RSC Energia informs that the dispatch of the receiving module of a new communication system to the International space station (ISS) is planned for October 2017 with a "Progress MS-07" spacecraft. The module will be installed on the outer side of the ISS Russian segment (RS) by end 2017. The channels of relay multifunctional space system relaying "Loutch" in Ku band will be used to communicate with Earth.

The new equipment, ground tests of which will be completed in September 2017, will provide broadband communications to the ISS RS. Its presence aboard the ISS will allow the crew of the Russian segment to have independent access to high speed Internet and fast to receive and send large amounts of data, including the experiment results, photos and videos.

MSRS "Loutch" is intended for communications with manned and unmanned low-orbit space vehicles moving in space out of radio visibility from arees territory of Russia, including the Russian segment of the ISS. The system operator is JSC "Satellite system "Gonets".
