JSC "Satellite system "Gonets" (part of the State Corporation "Roscosmos") shared at the Army-2022 forum the experience of creating digital satellite services in the new economic and technological realities. A report on this topic was presented by the satellite operator at the meeting of participants of the Russian technology platform "National Information Satellite System" held on August 16 as part of the business program of the forum.
"The creation of digital services that are competitive in terms of a set of services and price is impossible in the current situation without a qualitative transformation of production," Maxim Diordiev, Director of the Satellite Systems Application Directorate, said in his speech. – It includes a review of the entire chain of development and serial production of satellite communication and monitoring devices. Changes are actively underway today not only in the process of supplying components, which in modern conditions looks decisive for many. Parallel transformation processes should include reengineering, building sustainable information technology support channels with alternative vendors, and continuous improvement of service developers' own competencies. Among them, the development of our own testing base is becoming increasingly important, which allows us to "probe" the correctness of development vectors at early stages and significantly reduces the risks of critical errors before launching serial production."
The relevance of the transformation issues raised is further increased by the implementation of integrated industry communication and monitoring solutions, the creation of which JSC "Satellite System "Gonets" pays special attention. Manageability of such complex products cannot be achieved in modern conditions without technological independence and the introduction of flexible management and planning models.
